Artery Project

The Artery Project

The High School Student Docent Program Got a Makeover!

Photo: Rémi Thériault

The new Artery Project is a group of 13- to 23-year olds who are interested in things like: discussing art with the public at openings and during visits, helping create educational programming, collaborating on the Artery blog, and getting together for skill-sharing workshops, movie nights, discussions, special events, etc. We think a gallery ought to be more than just a space with art in it, so if you have ideas you'd like to try out, we're all ears!

The Artery Project is flexible; it can be pretty much what you want it to be. Your involvement depends on your interests, abilities and availability: you can choose to work from home once a month or be on-hand at the Gallery every day! This is a somewhat vague description of the project, but that's on purpose: we're really open to experimenting and making this the right fit for all involved. The whole reason this project exists is so people your age feel like the Gallery is a space for them to explore and figure stuff out.
