2016 MFA Dialogues Speaker Series

Wednesdays from 12:30 - 1:30 pm, February 24 to March 30

The Ottawa Art Gallery and the University of Ottawa Department of Visual Arts present a series of noontime talks during the 2016 winter semester. 

Teams of two currently enrolled Master of Fine Arts candidates from the Department of Visual Arts will present and discuss their research in a dialogue format at the OAG. 

Talks are free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome to attend. A full schedule of talks and presenters is outlined below (click on 'read more').

Wednesday, March 30: Fruitful Bodies
Presenters: Annie Thibault and Linsday Wilson (Bilingual French/English presentation)

Annie Thibault is inspired by an aesthetic of life in which multiple interactions take place between art, science, and nature. Her creative work with living organisms also incorporates drawing, installations and video.  Noteworthy are her participation in the Intrus/Intruders exhibition at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (2008) and in Dé-con-structions at the National Gallery of Canada (2007). Throughout her art career, she has also produced many permanent public works, including Élora at the Oncology Pavilion of the Hôpital de Gatineau (2009). Thibault lives and works in Gatineau.

Lindsey Wilson is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily with textile-based materials. She received her BFA with a minor in Gender Studies from Queen's University. In 2015, she was named the regional winner of the BMO 1stArt! Student Invitational Art Competition for the province of Ontario.
