How do we interact with the places we inhabit? Whether it be our homes, the wider community, or even our perceptions of self, this exhibition explores place as it exists through sensory experiences, between boundaries and memories, and across a set of ongoing, changing relationships.
Examining our relationship to the spaces we move through in our day to day lives, the artworks presented in this exhibit show different perspectives on how we impact a space through our presence or our absence, and how those spaces shape us in turn.
The Firestone Collection of Canadian Art is a significant art collection that spans the modern period and includes work from a wide range of Canadian art styles, geographical regions, and periods. The two largest themes represented in the collection are landscape and abstraction.
Come to the Jackson Café to discover two large murals, featuring the digital artwork of Eric Chan (aka eepmon).
This piece is a digitization of a birch bark biting that has then been reproduced through risograph printing. The biting can be interpreted as chickadees flying around flowers.

Karen Miller @karendmillerstudio and Rebecca Anne Rama @r_rrama are in the MA Contemporary Art Theory program at the University of Ottawa. This past year ...they participated in a curatorial mentorship, collaborating with the artists and the Gallery to mount this impressive exhibition!
Karen Miller is an Ottawa Textile Artist whose work creates conversation around the consequences of motherhood on women’s identity, perceptions, relationships and value.
Rebecca Anne Rama examines how contemporary artists interrogate transgressions of control, information collection and dissemination of seemingly benign technology through their artistic interventions.

Kids aged 6 to 12 years old who like making art and getting their hands dirty will love our Summer Day Camp ...program, Art and About. Campers will enjoy a variety of hands-on indoor and outdoor activities, specialty workshops led by professional artists, and field trips around the downtown core. Voici une invitation pour jeunes artistes ! Soyez des nôtres cet été pour en apprendre sur l’art, la Galerie d’art d’Ottawa, et son voisinage !
Les enfants de 6 à 12 ans qui aiment se salir les mains et faire de l’art vont adorer le camp L’art de bouger ! Les semaines comprennent des activités interactives à l’intérieur et en plein air, des ateliers animés par des artistes et des sorties au centre-ville.
